Introduction

I started London Violin Studio in 2010 to create a formal framework for my music teaching practice.

Teaching is one of my absolute passions. Most of the time I work as a violin performer (see http://www.simonhewittjones.com/), so it's a privilege and an honour to share what I've learnt with other people who really believe in the power of music.

Some experienced violin professors only teach Advanced students, but that's not how I do it. Yes, I'm always delighted to hear from really serious young players, but I'm equally happy to give trial lessons to enthusiastic amateur musicians and complete beginners.

All of my students generally have three things in common: they're highly committed, very enthusiastic, and usually very intelligent too. And nice people, mostly ;)

If that sounds like you, send me a quick message through the Application form. I'll be very pleased to give you a trial lesson - and if for any reason I'm not the right teacher for you, I'll help you find someone who is.

I'm dedicated to inspirational teaching and coaching that will help you meet your goals, whether you're a beginner starting to play violin for the first time, or an experienced pre-professional player getting ready for examinations.

My mission with London Violin Studio is to provide the highest possible standard of violin and music tuition, and to continually improve the teaching that we offer. I believe in creativity and community being at the heart of great music making, and the programs and courses I've created will give you not only the strongest possible foundation as a violinist, but will connect you with new friends and colleagues who share your love of the instrument.

I look forward to meeting you! Apply today for a trial lesson, and to talk to me directly about your goals and what the best course of learning will be for you!
